Buddhism.

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while. I've been studying quite a bit. Another thing I've been studying is the Buddhist religion. Not for the Global Exam or for school in anyway. I look at people with religion, and feel like there's something that they know or feel, that I, being an agnostic don't know or feel. While I'm not saying religion is the key to life, I am saying there is definitely something to gain from most spiritual religions. And I feel that if I a to better understand the world, that I should attempt to enlighten myself in this way.

I have always felt drawn to Buddhism. Particularly because of it's secular tendencies, and it's other differences from other mainstream religions. The Buddha would walk around, and inform people about Buddhism, not asking them to believe him on blind faith, or even to make the decision right away. Buddhism is truly about ending suffering in the world, and it's why I see it as the most noble religion there is.

So, as the Buddha suggested, I am carefully studying Buddhism, and slowly deciding if I really want to become a Buddhist. I think the hardest part for me will be the slightly ascetic nature of Buddhism.

I'm also interested in Buddhism. I sorta call myself a Bu-Jew. I try to incorporate some of the Buddhist principles into my life by taking some of its less specialized, core ideas- peace, appreciation of nature, meditation, etc. It's really cool that you're into it though! I've had some really great philosophical discussions that have branched off of it

I really like Buddhism, but my interest in the religion is greatly hampered by the droves of narcissistic, self-righteous PRICKS who say their Buddhist when they're really just too lazy to affiliate themselves with any religion they think requires work. When people misinterpret Buddhism as the "easy religion" or go to Buddhism because they're too much of a pussy to say they're agnostic or atheist, that's when I want to smack them and tell them to stop being more ignorant than a republican and more irritating than Scene kids. Like Serena, for example, who knew more about Owl City than Buddhism when I was trying to make a point to her at your last movie party. She was the epitome of the pop-culture demon I despise, because when, as a culture America becomes more obsessed with Taylor Lautner's abs than anything else more, I dont know, IMPORTANT, little shits appear who try and cover up the fact that they've sold their soul to mindless commercialist "I wanna be a vampire too" America.

So yes, I like Buddhism. Siddhartha was a genius.
Leave it to Americans to fuck that shit up beyond recognition. I bet Edward Cullen thinks he's a fucking Buddhist. *grumblegrumblegrumble*

Haha, wow. That switch to hating Twilight was sudden. And I know what you mean, that's why I'm trying to really find out everything I can about this first before I make any decisions.
